Phil Revell

Phil Revell is a mill town Lancastrian relocated to Shropshire via Essex

Phil took a degree at York before training as a teacher and worked in Essex before moving to Shropshire, teaching History at the Abraham Darby School in Telford for nearly twenty years. He left teaching in 1995 to try his luck as a writer, and was fortunate enough to work for a range of national titles including The Guardian, Independent, Times and Times Educational Supplement.

In 2007 he left journalism to run a national education charity; this was a challenging and occasionally entertaining role, but he was not tempted to stay and left in December 2009.

Phil has written a number of books, including 'The Mayflower Children' - a history of the events surrounding the More children. 'A Spurious Brood' is a fictionalised account of the story, and was published in 2011 to favourable reviews. Currently Phil is writing shortish stories, the latest of which is 'Matching Pair', released as an e-novella this September.
